2POC's Map Madness - Hurricane!

Welcome to 2POC's C&C Map Madness! Every week I will be highlighting high quality community maps from any of the three C&C universes including Tiberium, Red Alert, and Generals. These are MUST HAVE maps that have received an EA stamp of approval. They can range from single player missions to multiplayer skirmish maps. If you are unfamiliar with how to install a custom map, please refer to our simple instructions at the bottom of this article.

Description: Hurricane is a small tropical 1v1 map built for fast gameplay. Rushes are a main tactic on this map considering the short distance to the enemy's base. Those who want to control this map should take quick focus on the center where there are 2 Observation Posts and 2 Oil Derricks, with some garrisons for protection. If your opponent should quickly wreck your base, or if your forces are an even match, head out to the water! There each player will find a nice supply of ore. Good luck Commander on this action packed map!

Description: This is a 6 player map set in a Red Zone environment on a mid-day desert. Mountains form natural borders but there are many ways to access each base. There are Tiberium Spikes sprinkled around along with other tech buildings. The middle of the map also contains 2 Tiberium fields built for fast paced game play.

Map: Four Corners

Description: This is a recreation of a map from the Advance Wars series for Nintendo GBA/DS. This 4 player map is in a forest setting with mountains and plains. An Oil Derrick and Refinery lies between players, with an additional supply dock out in the field. The center of the map contains four Oil Derricks, a Reinforcement Pad, and two more Supply Docks. Controlling this point will ensure a huge income bonus throughout the battle. Steamrolling may be a popular strategy on this map due to the huge building space and large plains to fight across.

Custom Map Installation Instructions

Use CnCMaps.com Map Folder Generator to quickly drop the unzipped map files into the correct game folder. Check here for a download and video tutorial!

To install Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, or Red Alert 3 maps, please follow these directions:

Download the map file, which is usually a .rar or .zip file. You can download this free program for file extraction. Place the map files in the appropriate place listed:

XP Users: C:\Documents and Settings\[Account Name]\Application Data\Game Name\Maps\

Vista Users: C:\Users\Account Name\appdata\Roaming\Game Name\Maps

NOTE: The Application Data folder is usually hidden. On the top of the explorer bar, click Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Click Show Hidden Files and Folders button.

To install Generals or Zero Hour maps, please follow these directions:

For C&C Generals:
- The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps
- On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\
- On Windows 2000/XP systems, the complete path to the folder varies. The basic path is always: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\ where [User Name] is your Windows login user name.
For C&C Generals: Zero Hour:
- The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps
  - On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps\
