2POC's Map Madness - New Community Maps

Welcome to 2POC's C&C Map Madness! Every week I will be highlighting high quality community maps from any of the three C&C universes including Tiberium, Red Alert, and Generals. These are MUST HAVE maps that have received an EA stamp of approval. They can range from single player missions to multiplayer skirmish maps. If you are unfamiliar with how to install a custom map, please refer to our simple instructions at the bottom of this article.

DOWNLOAD CRIMSON PASSAGE FOR RED ALERT 3!

Map: Crimson Passage

Creator: MaelXD

Description: Crimson Passage is a large map made for long 3v3 battles. The map tends to lend towards turtling, although large advantages can be gained by early attacks at the enemy's tech structures. Each of the three players begins with two ore-nodes and four shared expansion ore-nodes behind each team's main defensive line. There are also four expansion ore-nodes up for grabs near the center of the map.

Here are our top two favorite aspects of this map:

This is a very fun 3v3 map with plenty of room to build and fight!
Very fun team coordination. Let a teammate turtle while two of you head for the enemy tech structures!

Please Note: In Kane's Wrath, this map works online, but AI subfactions and some scenery effects do not work.

Map: C&C Under Revisited

Creator: Madkill

Description: This is a re-imagination of the "Under" map in C&C Renegade. This 3 player map is similar to Unfair Advantage in a way. You have one person at the top of the map and the other 2 on the bottom. There are big patches of tiberium scattered throughout the map. The top player has 1 blue tiberium field located beside them while the bottom two only have a green one above them.

This is a classic Renegade map. Re-live it in C&C3!

DOWNLOAD A BRIDGE TOO FAR FOR ZERO HOUR!

Map: A Bridge Too Far

Creator: Hippy

Description: This two player map has the starting locations at the bottom of the map in separate corners. It is a good rushing map because there is a pathway through the mountains separating the two players. There is a large bridge at the top of the map as well as a few small villages to add a nice touch of detail.

Here are our top two favorite aspects of this map:

Fast paced map that is great for rushing and having a quick skirmish.
Lots of room to expand to the top of the map, and garrison troops in the villages.

Custom Map Installation Instructions

Use CnCMaps.com Map Folder Generator to quickly drop the unzipped map files into the correct game folder. Check here for a download and video tutorial!

To install Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, or Red Alert 3 maps, please follow these directions:

Download the map file, which is usually a .rar or .zip file. You can download this free program for file extraction. Place the map files in the appropriate place listed:

XP Users: C:\Documents and Settings\[Account Name]\Application Data\Game Name\Maps\

Vista Users: C:\Users\Account Name\appdata\Roaming\Game Name\Maps

NOTE: The Application Data folder is usually hidden. On the top of the explorer bar, click Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Click Show Hidden Files and Folders button.

To install Generals or Zero Hour maps, please follow these directions:

For C&C Generals:
- The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps
- On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\
- On Windows 2000/XP systems, the complete path to the folder varies. The basic path is always: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\ where [User Name] is your Windows login user name.
For C&C Generals: Zero Hour:
- The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps
  - On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps\
  - On Windows 2000/XP systems, the complete path to the folder varies. The basic path is always: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps\ where [User Name] is your Windows login user name.
